I love these pants. This is my 2nd pair. I have a grey pair for over a year now. I also bought my son in law a pair for christmas this year and he wears them all the time not just upland hunting. He bought a 2nd pair aswell during this recent sale. I would have given a 5 however there is a fitment difference between the two pair i own. Legs are about an 1” longer and baggier on my newest pair. Not wiite the same fit. I also own the Northcut jacket. It is a nice jacket but too long for my 5’8” build. i typically wear a large but this fits too baggy. Pants are great tho! Love em.

The quality of this gear is hands down some of the best in the industry

Purchased the first pair at the PF / QF fest at KC last spring. My first year experience was such that I bought the second pair for Christmas. These handle the Missouri briars and the cold days in Iowa.

I don't give reviews on just-bought products, however, in this case I will review my 2 season old pair of Dakota pants and contrast that with the newly arrived pair.

I obviously like the old pair well enough to part with a good deal of money to buy another pair. Here's what I like and dislike about them. First the good, they're light,
mostly comfortable, water resistant, and dry quickly. So far after 2 seasons of Pennsylvania, Michigan and South Dakota bird hunting they have proven durable, and, considering their light weight, protect well enough from the briars and hated multi-flora rose that we encounter on virtually every day hunted. They often get used while running my dog during the warm off season. Now for the not-so good, the fit thru the legs and crotch are way too tight. In looking at other reviews I know I am not the only one saying this. I don't like the feel of skin type hip-huggers in any set of pants, let alone a pair of hunting pants. I do have to say, that the feel is not as bothersome once I am out and moving around. However some more wiggle room would be nice, especially when I want to wear a lightweight pair of thermals underneath. The only other minor complaint is for some deeper front pockets so I don't have to worry about loosing something important somewhere way out in that swamp! However the zippered rear pockets are nice for wallets.

Now for a comparison to my new pair which i haven't used yet but have tried on. They are the same same size 32 as my old pair. Pyke obviously listens to us as they added about an Inch to the crotch depth and opened up the legs the whole way through! It certainly makes for a more comfortable hunting pant. THey also changed the rear pocket design to be integral with the pant shell rather than as a separate piece unconnected. This should add to the comfort also. Thanks for the improvements Pyke! I'll let you know how they hold up in a couple seasons. I also love my Tongas raincoat that I bought 2 seasons ago! Keep up the good work!

I bought a second pair of Tongass pants for my daughter. The pants are the second pair I purchased. The pants was same size as the first pair, but these were at least a size larger. But no problem Pyke took care of the issue and will be sending a new pair.
